The study of numbers and how they affect one’s life has a long history. However, it was not until 1907 before there was a mention of the word “numerology” in any English dictionary. The usage of numbers to obtain critical answers regarding the purpose of a person in various cultures fascinated mathematicians. Hence, they began to investigate the veracity of these claims of finding solutions to human problems with names and numbers.

The Early Days

Pythagoras is often seen as the “father” of numerology because of his huge contributions to numerology. He was born in Greece around 596 B.C. There are few historical records about him because most people that wrote about him did so years after his death. However, few of his works survived, and his contribution to numerology is one of such outstanding works.

Between (A.D. 354-430), Pythagoras, as well as some scientists of his time, were of the opinion that mathematical concepts have greater practicability. One such philosopher was Saint Augustine of Hippo. According to him, the Universal language with which the deity confirms the truth for humans is numbers.

This system was not developed by Pythagoras but by Juno Jordan in 1965 via the publication of “Romance in Your Name.”

The aim of the experiment was to find out if there is a relationship between self-reported psychic ability and the number 7. At the end of the experiment, the researcher discovered that such a connection was false.

In the research that was carried out in Israel, 200 participants participated in the experiment. The objective of the experiment was to investigate the numerological accuracy of the diagnosis of learning disorders such as autism, ADHD, and dyslexia. At the end of the experiment, the diagnosis was found to be inaccurate. The researcher repeated the experiment twice to prove a point, but it was still the same.

Martial = 4 + 1 + 9 + 2 + 9 + 1 + 3 = 29

Lionel = 3 + 9 + 6 + 5 + 5 + 3 = 31

Anthony Martial Lionel = 34 + 29 + 31 = 94

Name number = 9 + 4 = 13 = 1 + 3 = 4

From the above calculations, the name number for an individual whose name is Anthony Martial Lionel is 5. If Anthony Martial Lionel decides to alter some part of his name, this will lead to a new number name. The initial number name is used to explain part of his life. Hence, an alteration will lead to alteration is some aspects of the individual’s life.

In the Pythagorean system, your birth date is seen as an extension of your personality. Hence, it is also calculated to obtain a single digit. Hence, in the example of Anthony Martial Lionel, the name number that will be derived in the Chaldean system will be different from the one that will be derived from the Pythagorean system. However, this does not mean that the answer you will get from a Pythagorean numerologist will be significantly different from what is obtainable with a Chaldean numerologist.

Just like the Pythagorean system, the master numbers 11, 22, and 33 are also recognized and not altered. In other words, just like the Pythagorean system, if your birth name is 11, 22, or 33, it will not be reduced to a single digit.
